What is CAMCEVI®? CAMCEVI is an androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) used for treatment of adult patients with advanced prostate cancer.
You should not take CAMCEVI if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in CAMCEVI or to any other medications called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists.
CAMCEVI may:
cause an increase in your testosterone level during the initial few weeks of treatment, which may cause temporary worsening of symptoms or additional signs and symptoms of prostate cancer. You may experience a temporary increase in bone pain. You may have trouble with urination or develop abnormal amount of pressure on your spinal cord which can result in paralysis, which may be life-threatening.
cause your blood sugar to increase, including increasing your risk of developing diabetes. You should have your blood sugar monitored while taking CAMCEVI.
increase your risk of heart problems including heart attack, sudden death, or stroke. It can also cause your heart to beat irregularly.
cause some patients to have seizures.
in rare cases, cause delayed serious skin reactions in patients receiving leuprolide-containing therapy. Immediately contact your doctor if you develop fever, flu-like symptoms, mucosal lesions, progressive skin rash, or swollen lymph nodes.
cause fetal harm if administered to a pregnant woman.
cause impotence and impair fertility in males of reproductive potential.
The most common side effects of CAMCEVI include hot flush, high blood pressure, reaction where you received your shot which may cause temporary burning/stinging, pain, bruising or redness, upper respiratory tract infections, muscle and bone pain, tiredness, and pain in extremity. Tell your healthcare provider if you experience a rash or severe injection site reaction.
