93
When I was diagnosed with APC:
2011
When I started treatment with CAMCEVI:

One of my favorite things about CAMCEVI:
I don’t need to remove my pants to get the shot. My daughter can stay in the exam room while I pull up my shirt and get the injection in my stomach.
Best advice my doctor gave me
about CAMCEVI:
Don’t miss any appointments for your injections. Make sure you stay up to date
with your treatment.
Favorite way to spend a Saturday morning:
I like to go to coffeehouses and talk to people.
My greatest accomplishment:
Coming to America, becoming a U.S. citizen, and building a business.
What I’m passionate about:
I love to fish. I love to cook. But most of all, I love to spend time with my family.
What I want to tell men who are newly diagnosed:
Take care of yourself. Listen to your body. And don’t miss your doctor’s appointments!
Words I live by:
Never give up.

What I wish I knew when I was first diagnosed:
Be your own advocate. I have a great relationship with all my doctors, but you do have to learn to be your own advocate. If you’re not comfortable, get another opinion.
The first questions I asked my doctor when he suggested treatment with CAMCEVI:
“Why am I getting this treatment? Why do I need these shots?”
My greatest accomplishment:
My daughter and son, because they are such good people, devoted to service.
What I’m passionate about:
Prostate cancer advocacy. It’s something I’ve grown into, and I plan on making it my full-time job next year. I want to get the word out about early detection and treatment.
My favorite song:
“Phoenix,” by Dan Fogelberg. Because I feel like a phoenix, rising from the ashes.
Words I live by:
Today, I’m okay.
What I would tell a newly diagnosed patient:
As far as having treatment for advanced prostate cancer, why would you not give yourself the best chance possible? I mean, there’s no guarantees in life, but I want the odds as good as I can.
Are you taking CAMCEVI (or know someone who is)? We would love to hear your story!
